School 6 Day 2

Another great day at School 6 today!

Waiting at the doorway to come in to English Class.
3rd Grade in Anna Z's classroom, waiting to be asked to sit down.

Reading aloud in English.  Students in Russia start English classes in 2nd grade.  They have 25-30 students per class, but split down to 12-15 for English.

Playing Bingo!

Uniforms vary from school to school.  In School Number 6 each homeroom teacher decided the colors and expectations.  Here at School 11 they wear navy blue and white, but can be any style.  They must have the pin on for their school insignia or the homeroom teacher gets in trouble!

My host Irina's 5th grade class.

Something you don't see in America!  Musia lives in the school, and comes and goes as she pleases.  In the 3 times I was in the teacher's coatroom, she moved over one chair each time :-)

Something that would not be so surprising to see in America!

  2. J.T. asks "Why would the homeroom teacher get in trouble if the children don't wear their pins? I think the kids should get in trouble."
