Reading is Important!

This afternoon I was realizing that I have not been out and about very much, and would like to go do some shopping.  Here's the problem...I can't read in Russian.

Yet again I'm realizing how important it is do be able to read.  I can tell which places are businesses instead of flats (apartments), but I have no idea what they sell.  Are they a lawyer's office?  A convenience store?  A restaurant?  I have no idea!  There are posters in the windows, but just like in America the advertisements often have nothing to do with what they're actually selling.  Have you ever walked into an insurance agency hoping to buy souvenirs?

Luckily Anna Z just called and asked if I would like to go on a walk tonight.  I told her yes, and right away asked her if she could point out businesses that I can shop in when I am on my own and have time to explore!

  1. Getting help is the next best thing when you can't read. Friends are very good!

    1. It gives me a lot of compassion for adults in America who are illiterate, or especially our older Hmong population!
